Our approach to AI

- Other reliable primary or authoritative sources
When an article relies on a particular source, our editorial process may involve reviewing that source directly rather than relying solely on an AI-generated summary.
Quotes and statements
SwipeUp does not intentionally use AI to invent quotations, statements, interviews, or positions and attribute them to real people or organizations.
Quotes and attributed statements should come from an appropriate source such as an interview, transcript, official statement, publication, document, or other verifiable source.
AI tools must not be treated as a substitute for verifying what a person or organization actually said.
AI-generated images and visual content
SwipeUp may use AI-generated images or illustrations in appropriate editorial contexts, particularly for:
- Technology explainers
- Programming articles
- AI and software articles
- Tutorials
- Comparisons
- Concept illustrations
- Educational content
AI-generated visuals are intended to illustrate concepts unless explicitly identified otherwise.
SwipeUp will not intentionally present a synthetic or AI-generated image as an authentic photograph documenting a real event.
When an AI-generated image could reasonably be mistaken for genuine documentary material, appropriate disclosure may be provided.
Technical and programming content
SwipeUp may use AI tools while developing or reviewing technical content, including programming examples, SQL queries, commands, configurations, and development workflows.
Because AI systems can produce incorrect or outdated technical information, examples should be reviewed and, where practical, tested before publication.
Readers should also consider their own software versions, operating systems, environments, dependencies, permissions, security requirements, and other technical factors before applying instructions to production systems.
Artificial intelligence content
When SwipeUp reports on artificial intelligence systems, we may reproduce or demonstrate AI-generated output when doing so is relevant to the story.
Where reproduced AI output is important to understanding an article, we may identify it as AI-generated and provide appropriate context.

Transparency
We believe transparency should be meaningful and proportionate to the role AI plays in the content creation process.
Not every use of an AI-assisted tool necessarily changes the nature of an article. For example, using an AI tool for spelling suggestions is different from using an AI system to generate substantial material.
Where AI use materially affects the substance, interpretation, or presentation of editorial content, SwipeUp may provide additional disclosure where appropriate.
Corrections and accountability
If we discover that AI-assisted content contains a significant factual or technical error, we may correct or update the content in accordance with our editorial practices.
Using an AI tool does not reduce SwipeUp’s responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the material we publish.
